About Upper East Modern

Upper East Modern is a new fine art and vintage Mid-century modern furniture and design showroom on Manhattan's Upper East Side. The new showroom is a partnership between Adam Zimmerman of Syl-Lee Antiques and Glenn Spellman of Spellman Gallery, both located in Manhattan. Upper East Modern is a by appointment only showroom.

Glenn Spellman has spent 30 years building Spellman Gallery into a discreet and trusted buyer of pre-owned original artwork from around the world. The gallery specializes exclusively in secondary market works, purchasing and consigning art from estates, private collections, and individual sellers. With a knowledgeable staff and an active client base, Glenn conducts each transaction with diligence, confidence, and professionalism.

Adam Zimmerman is the CEO of Syl-Lee Antiques, a family-owned Manhattan business established by his father, Gary Zimmerman, more than 40 years ago. Adam joined the company in 2008 and has helped expand its work in antiques, fine art, jewelry, collectibles, and estate transitions. Alongside his family, he evaluates property, assists clients with downsizing and inheritance matters, and brings extensive expertise in appraisal, diamonds, and valuables.

Glenn and Adam are both members of the Appraisers Association of America, reflecting their commitment to professional standards, ethical conduct, and informed valuations. Whether purchasing original artwork, antiques, jewelry, or complete estates, they approach each client with discretion, knowledge, and integrity.
